વક્ફ ઉસ્માન બિન અફફાન હોટલ, હકીકત શું છે?

સૌ પ્રથમ એક કૂવો એક વક્‍ફ બન્યો. રસુલુલ્લાહ ﷺ નાં સમયમાં મદીના શહેરમાં રૂમહ કૂવો (Bir Rumah) હતો, જેનામાંથી પાણી ભરવા માટે લોકો પાસેથી પૈસા લેવાતા હતા. ત્યારે પયગંબર સાહેબ ﷺ એ કૂવો ખરીદીને મુસ્લિમો માટે વકફ (દાન) કરવા માટે કહ્યુ.
હઝરત ઉસ્માન બિન અફફાન (રઝિ.) એ કૂવો ખરીદ્યો અને જાહેર ઉપયોગ માટે વક્‍ફ તરીકે અર્પણ કર્યો. એના પછી એ કૂવો બીરે ઉસ્માન તરીકે ઓળખાય છે.

Waqf Uthman Bin Affan Hotel – What’s the Reality?

It all began with a well that became a waqf.
During the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the city of Madinah, there was a well called Bir Rumah. People had to pay to draw water from it. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged someone to buy the well and dedicate it as a waqf (charitable endowment) for Muslims. Hazrat Uthman bin Affan (RA) bought the well and donated it for public use. Since then, the well became known as Bir Uthman.

Over time, the income generated from the well and the surrounding land was used to purchase agricultural lands and properties by subsequent governments and the Waqf department. The revenue from these properties is still used for social welfare and charitable projects.

One of the modern developments is the Waqf Uthman Bin Affan Hotel, built on this very waqf land. The income from this hotel is regularly used for noble causes such as:

रसूलुल्लाह ﷺ के समय मदीना शहर में रूमह कुआँ (Bir Rumah) था, जहाँ से पानी भरने के लिए लोगों से पैसे लिए जाते थे। तब पैग़म्बर मोहम्मद ﷺ ने किसी से उस कुएँ को खरीदकर मुसलमानों के लिए वक़्फ़ करने के लिए कहा।
हज़रत उस्मान बिन अफ़्फ़ान (रज़ि.) ने वह कुआँ खरीदा और जनता के उपयोग के लिए वक़्फ़ कर दिया। इसके बाद वह कुआँ बिर उस्मान के नाम से जाना जाने लगा।

समय के साथ उस कुएँ और उसकी ज़मीन से आय होने लगी। आगे चलकर सरकार और वक़्फ़ विभाग ने उस आमदनी से खेती योग्य ज़मीनें और संपत्तियाँ खरीदीं। इन संपत्तियों की आय आज भी समाज सेवा और भलाई के कामों में लगाई जाती है।
